Join us for a memorable night under the stars at the majestic Raby Castle! Set against the stunning backdrop of this historic castle, you will explore the wonders of the cosmos guided by expert astronomer. Whether you are a seasoned stargazer or a curious beginner, this evening promises a magical experience.
Saturday 4th January – Witness a rare event known as a planetary occultation. At around 5.2pm the ringed planet Saturn and its moons will disappear behind the dark limb of Earth’s crescent Moon for just over an hour. They will reappear at around 18.25 from behind the Moon’s bright limb. Come and watch the spectacle up close through telescopes we’ll have set up for the purpose at Raby Castle.
