The Secret Buildings of Raby : Bath House
Join us on the last Saturday of every month for our brand new guided walks, taking a deeper look at some of the Secret Buildings of Raby.
Led by Raby Castle’s Head Gardener, enjoy a leisurely walk to the beautiful Bath Wood.
Bath Wood was originally ancient woodland called ‘The Elders’, after the trees that grew there. The wood housed buildings including a Bath House, Bath House Cottage, and an 18th century Ice House.
The area surrounding the Baths became a pleasure garden. Paths offered a circular walk, and a variety of shrubs and flowers were planted alongside structures built to give ‘delight’, such as miniature bridges.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see Bath Wood, which is not usually accessible to the general public.
This guided walk is complimentary with a Park & Gardens ticket or Raby Membership.
Please note that suitable clothing and footwear is required.
