Ever wondered what happens while the Castle sleeps for winter? Join us for the Secrets of the Raby Castle Spring Clean - a rare chance to meet our Conservation Officer and Castle Housekeeper and learn about how they restore every room to perfection before reopening.
Discover how the castle has been cared for through the years by historic housekeeping teams, see some conservation in action with a sneak peek into a room which is in the process of being deep cleaned, and explore a behind-the-scenes area to see further collections care.
Access: Please note that accessibility inside the Castle is limited due to the historic nature of the building. This tour includes areas of the Castle that are not usually open to the public. The route includes uneven floor surfaces, steep stairs and areas where there is no access to seating. Flat shoes and warm clothing are strongly recommended.
